I am a 40-something year-old woman, married with a daughter, a dog, and and two cats. I teach special education at a high school in New Jersey. I started this blog to simply express myself about all things, whether they are about my struggles with dieting, my almost obsessive distaste for Fox news and the fear/hate-mongers they breed, or the state of the world. I love the Mets who make me crazy, the NY Giants who make me crazy, and Bruce Springsteen who makes me crazy in a good way. I adore animals and I am trying to make this the year I go vegetarian (this from the ultimate meat-and-potatoes girl). I am an environmentalist who forgets my reusable grocery bag 2 out of every 3 times I go to the store. I am a work in progress, and a piece of work if you talk to my husband. I love humor and find myself searching for those special people that will keep me laughing as much as humanly possible. I try to be kind, but I know I fall short an awful lot. I don’t know if anyone will care one bit about what I have to say, but I’m going to say it anyway.

Damn lady you are funny! I always look forward to seeing you when the insane group gets together, and now I will be able to be entertained in between. Keep blogging. I find that the older I get, the more I depend on my humor. Its like an emotional shield that I put up to deflect the crap that life throws at us.
I would love to get a running dialogue going among all of us on here. The yearly get-togethers have become like an exclamation point to end my year. The minute I leave the group I feel sad that we don’t get to do that more often and I can’t wait to meet up the next year. We both agree that humor gets us through the day very often. Thanks for the nice words. This is just a very self-indulgent way of venting for me. I bet you could get into this very easily and be extremely entertaining. Try it!
